I was told to charge overnight b4 use. From a pratical stand point it works right out the box. To completley diminish the battery from time to time promotes longer life

I got different answers from different person. Today I was told that the discharge will shorten the battery's life. And the lithium-ion battery can be fully charged in 4-5 hours. And we usually should charge the phone when there is only one bar left in battery...I'm really puzzled about the charging of lithium-ion battery....

At first the phone can power on, so I don't charge it. Then the battery is dry out. Should I finish the charging when it shows the charging is complete or just charge for more hours? I heard that on the first three chargings, the battery should be charged for more than 10 hours to lengthen its serve life.

I just want to know whether I should charge the newly-bought phone or not. Nothing on the manual says it has to be initially charged for a specific number of hours... but a lot of people are telling me it has to be initially charged.

would anyone know for sure here?
    help pls!
