Tethering Option only works for Iphones that AREN'T currently updated too 3.1 So if ya have 3.0 or 3.01 then YES it will. Just look it Up on You tube.

No, it doesn't work. The software update prevents another carrier file from overwriting the correct settings, so tethering cannot be used. I have tried to get tethering back on my phone, but I have been unsuccessful since I did the MMS update

Tethering has been available since the later 3.0 betas, but it is not yet supported by AT&T in the United States. As with the MMS issues here in the US, AT&T does not want to release the tethering functionality to the public until they are sure that their network can handle the load of iPhones using the tethering feature. It is possible to update the carrier files on the iPhone to allow the tethering options in the Settings of the iPhone, but it is not guaranteed to work.

I am wanting to use my phone as a modem but it seems like I keep reading that you can no longer do this with the new update. Is anyone tethering their phone with the latest update installed? Im fine doing the jailbreaking if that will do it.

    Thanks!
