I don't know if I get points for fixing my own problem, but the solution seems to be to go back a version with Samsung PC Studio.

Once you install, do not update. Apparently, the later version of PC Studio does not support time zones for the T229 as well as this earlier version.

As a newbie here I am not allowed to post links, so here is the correct file name.

    I have a T-Mobile Samsung SGH-T229 Handset.
I have installed Samsung PC Studio 3.2.3 IE 2 with Live Update Version 3.2.3IE 1 on my PC (Dell Inspiron 600m).

I am trying to sync Microsoft Outlook 2007 to Handset.
Contacts work fine as do tasks.

But when I sync the calendar, two problems.

Major problem is on my handset the appointment times are 4 hours later than in Outlook (switching to five hours later when EST ends in November). Have reset the time zone in both my handset and Outlook twice.
Handset is set to automatic time - though when I had it manual the problem was still there.

Minor problem is that appointments are showing up as Miscellaneous in handset rather than Schedule.

Anyone out there able to help me?

    Thanks
