If you want small, then I would go with the Blackberry Pearl Flip.
You will have to get the data plan no matter what smart phone you do go for. All carrier's have gone to this as far as I know.

In the past I've always been using small phones. The smaller the better. currently I'm using a Nokia 5310 because its really small and compact, and I like that. But recentely I've noticed that my life's been getting pretty busy, and have decided that I would need something like a Blackberry to help me organize everything. I've considered of getting a PalmPilot or something... but I think it's too much of a hassle to have two things.

    My questions are:
    a) If I get a Blackberry, do I have to get the data plan? I don't really have the need to use e-mail and everything on my phone so don't think that if would be smart paying an extra $30/month (I'm on Rogers Wireless) on something I don't use. I currently have Mobile Browsing... will this work?

    b) If I absolutely NEED to get a data plan would you guys suggest the Samsung Hype instead? It has all the organizing needs plus QWERTY keypad.

Thanks in advance for your help.
