Hello, you will need to talk with movistar and told them your problem, your phone will only work with Movistars SIM card, but, if you buy an unlocked phone, it will work with any Sim card from any network

That depends on the company of the SIM Card

More than likely the blackberry will have to be unlocked to work on a different GSM network. People already have sims if they have a GSM service provider and it will swap into the blackberry, yes.

I live in the U.S. and a friend from Spain gave me a BlackBerry 9000-Bold branded by Movistar. It did not come with a SIM card. She said that all I needed to do was put the SIM card from my current phone into the BlackBerry and it would work. What she did not know was that my phone does not have a SIM card. I am on a CDMA network and don't plan to switch. I would like to sell the phone but don't want to mis-represent it to a potential buyer. Can you buy SIM cards for the phones seperately?? If you have an existing SIM card from another type of phone (not Blackberry), will the SIM card work in the Blackberry?

    Thanks for your help!
