If you are using outlook 2010, try steps below.
    1. On your PC, go to the contacts piece of Outlook, export your contact as Comma Separated Values (Windows). Select the Contacts entry from the "Select folder to export from" list.
Finally, name and find a location to save the exported file to, and click Finish.

    2. Log into your Gmail account on the PC where you exported your contacts. In the Gmail window, choose Contacts. Import Contacts CSV file you save before.

    3. Now, all you have to do is run the sync on your mobile device. Each phone will handle this differently, but more than likely, all you need do is wait a moment and the device should auto-sync the new contacts.

    • Selezionare Contatti - Avanti
    • Cliccare Finitura
    Fase 2
    • Accedi al tuo account Gmail
    • Cliccare Contatti nel menù di sinistra
    • Cliccare Importazione in alto a destra
    • Cliccare Importazione
    • I contatti saranno importati nel tuo account Gmail
    Fase 3
    • Vai a contatti> Menu> Account

is there a way to do this directly from the Droid to Outlook and not via gmail? i don't use gmail.

the Droid has an option to "sync contacts" but when i do it i get duplicates on my PC.

My mom's Outlook contacts file is huge. I tried to create the CSV and import to Gmail, but it gave me a "too large" message.

    Any other ideas?

Worked like a charm. Verizon couldn't get my Crap-Berry to give up its contacts... Thanks.. would have taken 7 years to manually add them.

Where is the link to "Go Contact Sync"?

I have semi-successfully linked but noticed that email in the CSV file titled "EmailAddress" inserts some code not the actual address for each contact from Outlook. The actual address ends up in the "Notes" within Gmail after syncing. I tried to change the title of the field within the CSV file but could not successfully get it to populate the actual Email field in Gmail. Does anyone know what Google's code is looking for when it sync's the CSV file, IE: fname = first name, etc. I am quite sure it is simply naming it properly so Gmail recognizes it, or maybe not. HELP!

Am I missing something here or did we go backward ?
You didn't miss anything here jcather. This is my issue as well. Even the HTC Eris has the HTC sync which will allow you to sync with outlook. I did install googlesync yesterday to play with it and see how well it works with syncing to my outlook calendar. Surprisingly, it does quite well. I told it to update every 30 minutes and "bam" every 30 minutes, all changes in my outlook calendar were there in the google calendar. I may have to venture down the Moto Droid road if the HTC Passion/Dragon doesn't come out within the next 30 days or so. I'll keep you posted.

    John,
These were great instructions and all my contacts synced over perfectly. Do I simply do the same thing again if I edit one of my contacts in outlook or wilI I get a duplicate contact on my gmail? I have also edited contacts on my Droid. What will happen if I import them back into outlook?

    Thanks
    Mark
