Since Samsung is working on its Linux based smartphone OS, they have decided that they will no longer carry Symbian handsets and have announced that they will release fewer Windows Mobile smartphones in the future.

Beginning in 2011, Samsung says they intend to stop creating Symbian handsets, according to HMC Investment Securities and will reduce their Windows Mobile devices down to 20% in 2012.

In 2010, Samsung plans on launching around 10 Android phones, in which 30% is of it's total number of smartphones as well as some devices being their smartphone OS. It's estimated that 50% of Samsung's smartphones will run its own OS In 2012.
