AT&T can be a great provider depending on your location. Check the AT&T map where you are located and spend time and see if the coverage is acceptable in that area. You can also try out AT&T for 30 days and cancel without problem. (only pay for what you use and restocking fee for phone.)

    It's so true !!

So what if a customer is for example moving to Alaska (there is almost no signal over there ) ??

Is that a way to get out ??

There is also celltradeusa.com America's Online Cellular Exchange Place[/url] , I didn't use it but I think it could be a pretty good solution !!

I agree. You received your iPhone with a discount. AT&T picked up the rest of the tab, and you promised to use it for two years. 6 months left is not a long time, but I would call AT&T and complain about the service. If you really want out of your contract and have some time call them every time you drop a call. They will get the message after the first 30 or so calls to complain.

Really, I would just wait the six months and then move to another provider.

    Good luck!

They won't do that anymore. Even if you move to an area of poor coverage. If you want out of your contract, you have to pay the ETF.
    They do not guarantee coverage.

By switching to Verizon, my guess is that you've very likely to incur substantial early termination fees if you just quit the contract, but I thought I'd mention a method that you might want to use to significantly cut both your current AT&T costs and then your Verizon Droid bill in the future. In doing this, you can at least try to make up some of the expense of dropping AT&T. We tend to think of wireless costs as fixed, but you can tinker with your plan to optimize your features to best suit your usage and often save significant cash in the process. I know this because I work in the consumer advocacy division of the company Validas, where we electronically audit and subsequently reduce the average cell bill by 22 percent through our website, fixmycellbill.com (and I'll add that 22 percent equates to over $450 per year for the average user). Put simply, Validas guards against frivolous and unnecessary charges that inflate your cell bill more than it should be for your usage. You can find out for free if fixmycellbill.com can modify your plan to better suit your needs by going to the website.

For more info, check out Validas in the national news media, most recently on Fox News at myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/consumer/conlaw/lower_cell_phone_bills_072409.

Good luck to everyone reading on cutting costs, especially in light of this unforgiving economy.

Yeah, tell them you want to cancel your contract and pay the bills they send you!

I know it sounds sarcastic, but its the only way, other than finding a contract change that changes YOUR monthly plan or costs and will not be able to be reveresed from your bill.
