So you are saying the update over the net doesn't work that you started this thread with? Just checking before I run off and trash my phone. Sounds like we need to go to the Verizon store.

I just tested the update software on my Touch. Tell me to go to the store to get it updated, so i guess they decided not to support the Touch. Off to the store . . . .

I was under the impression that this is all I have to do:

DUN hack to be able to tether with your Phone as Modem...
NOTE: this is against Verizon's TOS

That plan will not allow you to tether your phone to the internet on a computer.

No, this is just an update for the device and the software downloader has no impact.

In order to use the enV Touch as a modem you need:

    • VZAccess Manager
    • a mobile broadband connect plan addition: $49.99 for tethering
    • a standard voice plan

I haven't been able to successfully get it to update my old enV Touch, either.

What exactly are these cool features? Did they fix the horrible unlock button with an option to disable it from unlocking the phone??

    Available as of 11/2/09.

The software update which fixes numerous bugs, including:

    • Internet Speed
    • Calibrating Touch Screen
    • Media/Music Player
    • adds a few cool features

Is now available and can be downloaded by visiting any Verizon Wireless Communication Store(s) with software updating abilities...OR:

You can do it from home using your high speed Cable/DSL internet connection.

    LG Software Updater Application Download

On their website, it doesn't say that this phone is specifically available...but once you download it and it asks you to choose your phone, the VX11000 (enV Touch) and so is the enV3 and many other phones by LG. Select your phone, it will browse for updates...then it will prompt for you to connect your phone.

This update is happening on my phone and is fairly quick and seems to work.

A USB Cable will be required
