Just tell them that your phone was stolen and that it was recovered without a sim card and that you would like to use your previous one....

I got jumped and robbed. I got my stuff back but the guy threw away my sim card. I want to go get one without my dad since he doesn't know any of this. So will I have to buy a new sim card or can I use the one I have from my old phone? Will I just tell them my number and they put it on the sim card? Or how does that process work? Like what questions will they ask
