You can LOCK an individual text message to keep on file, or forward it so it remains on file on your PC, or back to the sender.

    Nope .. you aren't missing anything, I don't think.

And that is the way I thought it would work.

That the thread would sort of reinitialize when it received the next text sent after my deletion.

Seems to me like it is time to somehow get the sender to somehow confirm these texts, which have and should come with regularity 2-5 times per day, are really being sent.

Guess that is the next step .. may or not be easy to get them to do this.

Any other suggestions or thoughts .. please feel free to share them.

    Thanks .....

When you DELETE the thread... for example all text exchanges with JOE... when JOE sends you and/or you exchange messages/text again, a new thread should start and remain on your DROID until you DELETE that thread again...

You can LOCK or DELETE individual texts within a thread. I don't understand where your problem lies if you follow theses steps unless i don't understand what your trying to do, or something that your DROID is having a problem with.

once you DELETE a thread its texts are gone, they will not appear any longer, if that person sends you a text again... a new conversation/thread with the exchange of all texts with that individual will remain until that thread is DELETED again.

if i'm missing something your trying to explain let me know...

    Pretty much what you said:
    1) clicked on the text messaging icon
    2) clicked on that particular thread. (Really wanted to just remove some of the current messages.) The thread opened with individual messages showing.
    3) clicked on the 'menu' button _below_ the droid screen
    4) Different options appear .. I selected/clicked on the 'delete thread' selection.

And it appears to be deleted .. my mistake for sure, but I thought the thread would start again when I received the next message. Doesn't seem to work that way.

I am still being sent regular messages in that thread from the same sender; but not seeing anything on the droid. (And as I said earlier I cannot change the originating message.)

Is important to me to be able to receive these .. help please ...

what process did you use when you deleted the thread... did you go to... when you were in the thread that you wanted to delete... pressed menu icon (lines icon) then... press the icon MORE in the pop up menu...then pressed DELETE THREAD.

... or did you do something else.

It seems that I messed up by deleting a thread that must continue. I get automated messages coming to that thread that I cannot change anything about on the sending side.. but I deleted the thread on my droid. Now the messages are not being received/saved? on my droid .. at least I don't see them. (Other messaging is working fine) I somehow need to get them going again. This is a BIG problem for me .. can somebody please tell me what to do. Thanks very much ......
