Orange UK is planning on delivering what they call, "excellent audio quality to mobile calls" by developing HD Voice ready handsets. The carrier that Orange UK is working with has not been announced yet but the company is one of the top phone makers on HD voice ready devices.

Wideband Adaptive Multi-Rate is the speech codec used to create the Mobile HD Voice and uses a wide speech bandwidth (50–7000 Hz).

According to Tom Alexander, CEO of Orange UK, he says, “Orange is proud to be leading the industry into the next decade by announcing a new standard in voice innovation that will transform the mobile experience for customers in the UK. HD Voice really does inject a level of innovation into mobile phone calls, making it sound as if callers are actually in the same room. Once people have tried it, they won’t want to go back.”

The HD Voice trials for Orange UK should start rolling out within the next few months.
