Can you make and receive calls on your Nokia phone? If so, then your SIM is being recognized. The phone is probably set to look in the phones database, not on the SIM.
Open the Phone Book, go into Options. There should be something in there to allow you to make the phone look for contacts on the SIM.

I just recently bought an unlocked Nokia 5800 (international version) - my service provider is ATT and I currently use a samsung unlocked phone.

I put my sim card into the Nokia but for some reason, none of my contacts are appearing (my contacts are saved on the sim as far as I know). Any thoughts on this? I have used this sim on other phones and my contacts appear automatically.

Does this sound like the phone is locked?? I have my doubts on that as the sim is being detected, but I know very little about this!

    Please help!
