if you do that clean it with 99% pure alcohol - pay attention to the contacts between the keys and the pcb. some more info here: http://cellphoneforums.net/general-c...does-work.html

Yes, the phone got wet--which unfortunately caused the error to appear. I was going to open up the phone and try to clean it out or dry it further to see if that helps...

This message indicates that it is stuck in a firmware update mode. It can only be initiated when the phone is being turned on and 9 is being held down. Is the 9 key depressed or did the phone ever get wet? The only way to get it out of that mode is to make sure the key isn't stuck and do a battery pull.

    Hello,

I have a Samsung SCH-A950 cell phone and all of a sudden when I power it on, the main display shows a white screen with blue text that reads:

    --Download started--
    Emergency @ USB

    Bootblock Version:
    a950 bb: ZD08:1

None of the buttons work and I even have to take the battery out to shut the power off.

I have all of my contacts in this phone and am desperate to retrieve them. I took the phone to my local Verizon store and they said there was nothing that could be done. I called up Samsung directly and they said that they have no tech process of removing the data.

My only option is to search online, but after several hours I have not been able to find anything definitive. As such, I figured I'd try here as a last resort.

Can anyone help? I'd even be willing to pay to get this info back!
