7-eleven sells a $20 rechargeable pre-paid calling card for long distance and international calling. For $20 get unlimited international and long distance calls from your cell.

Online calling card is better than buying it of the counter. Most probably you will pay by credit card which means you still have some protection in case you get screwed.

I've been using Onesuite.com calling cards for some years now and I get good call quality everytime plus their rates are competitive too. Everything is online from call history to topping up your account.

I understand. It can be pretty boring and lonely to be away from home. And calling up frequently is possible the best way to feel better. There are numerous companies that offer prepaid cards, but most of them are misleading about their call charges, expiry, validity, etc. Have you heard of Talkloop? Their prepaid card offers have economical call charges and validity. TalkLoop is a convenient prepaid long distance service that works from your home, office, cellular phone, even payphone. Look up the site for details.

I am a student, studying at a university away from home. I miss my place and home, my friends and my family. I am now in Ohio, while my home is in faraway Nevada. I make frequent calls back home just to feel a little better. I usually use prepaid calling cards. But I would like to have suggestions for a new card, which is economical as it being a student the charges should be economical.
