Sonim Technology has created and announced a new rugged handset that can hold up to extreme environments. The Sonim X2 Spirit is a candy bar shape phone that has a scratch resistant and impact resistant screen, certified IP 67, Certified MIL Spec 810G, and RPS certified.

Features of the Sonim X2 Spririt include: uses BREW version 3.1.5 OS. ,Qualcomm MSM 6280 Chipset, up to 40 MB of user memory, a MicroSD card slot (up to 8GB), supports Tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900, 1800, 1900 MHz, and HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Bluetooth v1.2 with DUN, OPP, HSP, HFP, FTP, A2DP and AVRCP, 3.0 megapixel camera with LED flash, multimedia player, 2.0-inch QVGA display with protected Gorilla Glass 1.5mm and 320×240 resolution, and Micro USB 2.0 port.

The Sonim X2 Spirit durable phone will be available across Europe next month.
