    Of course it will

But the poster implies that it became hot while charging and the battery got swollen which is definitely NOT normal.

Good thing you stopped using the swollen battery, I've heard of accidents where mobile phones explode and it's just scary! The signal issue may be resolved by a firmware update, otherwise it might be a hardware problem specifically the antenna. Try updating the firmware first and if it doesn;t work have someone look at the phone for you.

Good golly, take the battery to a dealership, they almost always take them back for nothing!

I'm not using the swollen battery. As I stated, I am using the battery from my mom's N73.

If your battery was swollen, it's dangerous to use. You need to dispose it right away. Maybe the problem is really with the battery. Why don't you buy a new battery? This is just my opinion.

Few days ago, I was charging my Nokia 6233 and noticed that the battery started to get very hot. I stopped the charging and removed the battery. It looked and felt swollen. It got so swollen that I couldn't place the battery cover over it when the battery was installed in the phone. I then took the battery out of my mom's Nokia N73 and saw that it was the same model as the one in my Nokia 6233. I installed the battery from the N73 in my 6233 and everything was fine. However, I noticed that even with full signal, I couldn't make or receive calls nor send or receive text messages. The phone/SIM worked sometimes but most of the time I couldn't perform any sort of communication. The phone itself is fine, I can go through menus and everything. Also note that sometimes the phone states no signal at all.

Just to verify that it is not the SIM's fault, I placed the SIM in my mom's N73 and everything works just fine. I can send/receive calls including text messages.

    What's wrong with my 6233?
