Well, it's a lesson for everybody who registered on this forum. We should clarify first the administrators of this site regarding the issue before concluding the we are spammed.

If you are receiving messages requesting personal information from anyone not listed on this page: Mods & Admins, then it is definitely spam and should be reported to one of the people on that page. General users and spammers may sometimes use Cell Phone Forums as a way to target specific people and get personal information. Even though the staff here is very swift about resolving it, we may not know it even is happening until a user (like yourself) receives one or one of the mods receives a spam message.

Mods and Administrators never ask for specific personal information...EVER. The most you may ever be asked for is an address to send your prize if you were to win the "Helpful Post Contest" (see link below)

If you can be more specific about the spam (like the user name, exact content, etc) please let us know. An even better choice would be to click the "forward" button at the bottom of the private message and send it to the user name "Tavenger5" so it can be handled accordingly.

I hope I was of assistance today.

    Thank You,

We apologize if you received multiple messages - there was a small glitch in the sending system and some members received the same message more than once. I'm also sorry if you think an honest contest is spam. No where on this site is your phone number asked for.

I am being spammed as well - many many messages to the private messages - asking for my phone number - AS IF!
