yes, cool idea and I have seen some ad hoc way of doing just this, damn it i need to start adding these links under my bookmarks

That's an interesting question. So you want to know if you can have your iPhone share its internet connection with your laptop. Jailbreak it and you can. It's call tethering and you can even do it for the 3G connection if you are not around a wifi signal.

iPhone WiFi and laptop WiFi are unrelated.

Wherever your iPhone is able to use WiFi, your laptop should also be able to use it. If you have AT&T DSL at your house, you can login with your information and use WiFi at any Starbucks nationwide.

You aren't able to tether your iPhone to your computer and get internet.

I go to Starbucks frequentley and I was wondering if it might be possible to get free wi-fi for my PC laptop using the original iPhone there
