More storage on the 3GS is also a plus. 16 or 32 GB sounds like a bunch, until you start dumping stuff into it.

We have one of each. The 3gs is much faster and less likely to freeze. Plus the video camera is nice. The GPS on the 3G is SLOW - that's my biggest complaint. It doesn't find you fast enough - I miss my turn most of the time because the blue dot lags so far behind where I actually am located. And the GS comes in white, which is way cool.
