I have found a way to do it!

    How To:

    [[SYNC PART]]
Go into your phone menu on SYNC. Then instead of downloading phone book, what you must do is go to Add Contact instead. Then on it will prompt you to go on you phone and select the contacts you wish to add.

    [[Phone Part]]
Go to Contact. Go to Send Name Card. Select Bluetooth. Mark All. Then Choose SYNC as the device.

    There You GO!

    Good Luck!

I tried the recommendation to turn off the auto download and the phone did pair. However, subsequent attempts to manually download the phone book results in cell phone shutdown.
I am grateful for the partial fix but need more help with a phonebook fix.

    Thanx

I found this on the forum:
"...I was having problems with two new Samsung Intensity (U450) phones from Verizon. After going round and round and seeing a severe case of finger pointing, I finally have a resolution from the SYNC people. They aknowledge that there are some issues with some Samsung phones and it is related to AUTODOWNLOAD of the PHONEBOOK. Here is what they say....

When PAIRing a phone, DO NOT do the AUTODOWNLOAD of the phonebook.

After pairing, go into PHONESETUP and turn the AUTODOWNLOAD feature OFF

It is then OK to manually download the phonbook, if desired....."

I was having the same type of problem with my Ford Sync using a Samsung SCH-r500 Hue R500

Has anyone figured out this "Rebooting", "Shutoff", "Locking Up" stuff when using the Bluetooth yet? It seems to be going on a lot of the Samsung models phones.
Are there any tricks or things that need to be done?
Pairing and downloading phone book to the Ford's Sync system, a long with other vehicles bluetooth software is a on going problem!!

I have the same problem with connecting to SYNC. Verizon and Samsung have not provided any support. I would be grateful for any help...
