    Broken speaker maybe? Plays find if you wear a headset right? If yes, 99% is the speaker.

    Could be corrupted data, hardware damage, or something else entirely. If I were your cousin, I'd try loading some new sound files and test-playing them. If that didn't get it, I'd try restoring it in iTunes (back everything up first!) to rule out software issues. Failing all else, I'd be for having ATT or Apple have a look at it.

    Every time my cousin plays his iphone upon sound file play, how come it makes a high pitch sound? It's like broken or something. Do you guys have any experiences like this one?
