I have the PPC6800 from Alltel. What I did was I just like they have explained it in the previous posts is drag the mp3 to my storage card folder in my phone. Then went to start > settings > sounds and notifications > Notifications, went to event to choose Phone: Incoming Call under that it fully recognized the mp3 and put it in the drop down list. It should be the same for the tilt as it was for mine I could be wrong if I am please let me know.

no i got it, for all that have HTC Tilt to set a mp3 as ringtone all you do is drag it into any folder in your tilt then open that folder up with the explorer and then you will see it

pick the mp3 out of whatever/whereever you have it stored and right click on it ... it will pop up a menu and 1 of the choices is set it as a ringtone ... it will then copy it to the ringtone folder
