It seems that the Nexus One has a poor battery life, a lot of people complained that their battery can not stand even one day. it is far behind the specification says

running apps in the background will really consume your battery life. make sure no running apps that are not necessary.

Not an easily answered question. Definitely download apps like Taskiller to make sure you don't have certain apps running in the background as those will murder your battery while you're not even using the phone.

My battery life on my Nexus One really sucked until I discovered that my screen timeout had been changed by one of my apps. Instead of being set to 2 minutes, my screen was defaulting to 30 minutes and if you don't notice, your battery can drain to almost nothing in a matter of a couple hours. Since changing the default screen timeout back to 2 minutes, I now get 2 days use out of my phone and I use it quite a bit for email and various applications including the browser and camera.

Andrew, if you have any apps that use the network you might want to check how often they are updating. I had the "Remember the milk" application that defaulted to check for updates and its location every minute. This drained my N1 battery very quickly.

I usually have 25% left at the end of the day with Wifi, 3G, and bluetooth active. However, using the GPS system will drain my battery very quickly as will a lot of web surfing.

it's not to bad. 3g really drains the battery though.

Battery life on the Nexus One, or any phone for that matter, will depend greatly on usage. You have to remember that the N1 is a smartphone, so it has Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, a full HTML browser, streaming/tethering capabilities, multitasking, etc. You can drain the battery in hours depending on what you're doing with the phone. That said, every review I have read said that it gets very good battery life.
