A clean install of the operating systems sometimes helps. And It helps to update your roaming capabilities after the update (*228, option 2)

I had a Droid Eris, but I sold it. My wife has one too. The track ball on hers was faulty. It would change screens by itself. The Eris is a low-end Android device that was sold secondary to the Motorola Droid, and I believe it just suffers from cheap manufacturing.

My phone worked great. I never had a single problem with it. THEN... I installed the system update. Now I miss calls because the ringer turns off. If I try to make phone calls I can't hear my phone ringing or any sound but the person I am calling can hear me. I remembered the factory reset so I tried that with my phone. It worked for a day then my phone went haywire again. I took it into the store and they tried to placate me by factory resetting it again. My phone was working at the time so I couldn't help but feel they didn't believe me. Anyway, I keep having this problem at least twice a day. I turn my phone completely off then on again because that will get it working properly until the next time it acts up again. Needless to say, I am annoyed. I love this phone and everything about it but I wish Verizon or HTC or whoever it is would fix this problem. It started with the update!

So, I think I solved many of the problems. After extensive browsing of other forums/blogs regarding these issues (btw there are a mind blowing amt of people having similar issues), I followed a fellow user's advise and did a factory reset. This was a couple days ago and since then (fingers crossed) I'm no longer having so many issues. I will still like to find a way that I could override a contact's facebook photo with one of my own in my contact list.

I have had many problems since completeing the update. At first I just thought it was a fluke. But I have had to pull the battery and restart it at least 1x a day. For no reason, the ringer shuts off and on vibrates. I have missed many calls in the last 2 weeks. The sound for my reminders also stops. The other day, I made a call and I could not hear the phone ringing or anything. It was husband I was calling, so I thought maybe it was his phone or location. After trying to call my house and still no ringing. I pulled the battery and restarted it. Called husband back, he said that he would hear me just fine, but I could not hear him. Got home, to missed calls on the home phone and they were me calling from my cell. So I don't know what happened to my sound then.
If I get time this week, I am heading into Verizon to see what the heck is up with that. It is driving me crazy, because I never know there is a problem until I check the phone and see missed calls.

Hello everyone. I recently completed a system update on my new Droid Eris (I was prompted to do so). Since then, unfortunately I have encountered a few issues. The photos from my album(s) that I have saved as the contact photo to some of my contacts are now replaced by my contact's facebook profile picture, even after I try to replace the photo. Before the update, when I linked a contact to their facebook profile I was prompted if I would like to use the facebook profile picture &/ add the birthday. This "prompt" no longer exist (I guess). Also, if I try to rapidly decrease my ringer volume using the side up/down arrow buttons my phone decides to restart. I previously did not have this problem. When I make phone
calls the phone vibrates letting me know that the call went through. Is there a way to disable this? Lastly, sometimes when I make back to back calls the phone shows as if a call has gone through but I hear nothing and the person I'm calling does not receive the call & doesn't even show a missed call. If I turn the phone off and back on it seems to help. Please help

    ~Jess
