There are some upgrades that are due for HTC Android phones and then there are spme that seems to be delayed.

For those owning an unlocked HTC Hero, the second part of the Hero firmware update has begun, which includes the OS Android 2.1. HTC Hero owners should be receiving a confirmation or message regarding the upgrade.

And for those who own a locked HTC Hero, the Android 2.1 Eclair update looks like it is being delayed for days or weeks. It just depends on who your carrier is. T-Mobile is promising the upgrade in a few days while UK3 says it will be at least mid to late July and then you have Orange saying that theirs will happen sometime in the near future.

For those with the HTC Desire, HTC Legend and the HTC Wildfire, updates on Android Froyo are expected to launch around the 3rd Quarter of this year bringing in an update to the Sense UI to work with Android 2.2.
