I just use Sound Forge to cut up different parts of tracks, also export to whatever extension I need.

How to Make Your Own Free Ringtones

I like changing the ringtone on my mobile phone often. I don't want to pay for ringtones, I rather make my own for free. I have tried it a bunch of different ways. The easiest way that I found was to use the free ringtone tool at mobilespin's website.
Everything is done online (there is no software to download and install)

Here is how to do it:

1- Go to mobilespin's website and click on the "Start Creating Your Own" button and then click on the Ringtone Tool link. This will take you to tool’s upload page.

2- Upload your MP3 or WAV file

3- Pick the start and end points of the ringtone you want to make and click on "Clip and Convert"

4- In the download page, you have 3 options - download to phone direct, download to PC and sync to phone and manual download to phone - The easier of the 3 ways, is to directly download to phone. You get a text message with a link on your phone. Click on the link and the download will begin. That's it. Enjoy your free ringtones!
