Leave it connected to the charger for about an hour or two and see what happens

My Nokia 6126 died all by itself - either last night or today. I picked it up to make a call and noticed the screen was blank. Wouldn't power up. Plugged in the charger, still no good. I put a voltage meter across the battery (3.8 volts) and charger (about 6 volts) and both look fine.

Yeah, I know...the phone is old, time to get a new one. The problem is I might be moving across the country in 6 months. There's no way in hell I'm signing up for a new contract at this point.

Any ideas how to fix it?
If not, what to do for a temporary replacement phone?

    Thanks!
