    No this is not possible. They only have records of your call history but not the conversation itself

    Haha more than likely he did not know what he was talking about. I asked my mom about it further and i think they were just tracking her phone calls and not her conversations. I was suspect from the beginning but they were quite adamant.

    Your father may have given the police a list of the phone numbers of known associates of your mother. The police then could monitor incoming calls from her number to landlines on the list. Then again your father may have exaggerated to make his case stronger.

    So what were my parents talking about when they told me that the police had somehow gotten a conversation my mom had had 2 weeks prior on her cell phone? My dad had reported her missing... She was in fact running off with another man.

    No - this would be illegal under wiretapping laws. They have a record of when phone calls were, who they were made to, and how long they lasted. That's it.

    Do cell phone companies and T-Mobile in particular record all conversations that are transmitted via cell phones? For example... can conversations i had in the past be dug up and played again? Are my conversations being held somewhere?
