You will not be able to do this. Sidekick is from T-Mobile wish is on a GSM Network, while the Virgin mobile service is piggy backing from Sprint, which is CDMA. These 2 networks will not be able to be mixed at this time. Maybe in time when LTE comes into play, but not currently. For your T-Mobile SIdekick, you must use it on T-Mo or AT&T for now, but it must be unlocked for AT&T. I am not sure if you have local service providers in your area, but if you do the must use a GSM network inorder for you to use the phone on their network. I hope this helps.

I'm not entirely sure but... as far as i know.. if your phone is unlocked you can use any simcard or service provider that you want.. no data plan needed, you can just use hotspot to connect wifi if the phone has the capability, you can use gprs and edge too..

Good luck with that! I waited for so long for any reply, by now I no longer need it! I am with Bell, thanks to the fact that I got a great deal on a barely used Palm Pre Got it on Prepaid, so I don't pay for data, yet I benefit from the WIFI when near hotspots

Unfortunately my present phone does not have/use a SIM card, otherwise I believe I could just move it to the new phone and be done with it.
I'm just not sure how it would work when Virgin doesn't offer any support on this. Aren't they supposed to do something on their end for the new phone to work?
Anyway, any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
