All my phones that I have purchased from timtechs are factory unlocked so I guess they only sell phones that are unlocked. Your best bet is to get a SE Xperia X10 since it has a 4.0 inch display it's great for web surfing

If you can get a phone unlocked or a jailbroken iPhone then you can use any AT&T or T-Mobile phone. Make sure you stick with those brands since they use SIM cards. Verizon and Sprint phones don't so you couldn't use those.

If you are looking for specific phone advice on which one to buy, there's probably other people here that could help you more. I've had a Droid, iPhone and Blackberry. I liked the Droid but it was a Verizon phone and once I found out I could use prepaid on a smartphone I got rid of it. I never liked the blackberry and now I use an iPhone. I wouldn't mind an Android GSM phone either but I'm perfectly happy with the iPhone.

Again if you don't want to mess with unlocking or jailbreaking then stick to T-Mobile phones otherwise you can look at AT&T phones as well. I currently use an iPhone with a prepaid plan with no issues. I don't ever see myself going back to a contracted plan with a major carrier again. Good luck

Oh I have no problem using a jailbroke or unlocked phone and I know they will be at full price. I am willing to pay that because pre-paid is so hassle free.
I have the Pay As You Go plan.
It doesn't include any data transfer.
I just want a phone that I can slip my SIM card in and go.

If you want to use T-mobile's service and don't want to have to unlock or jailbreak a phone then you need to purchase a T-Mobile smartphone, Blackberry, My Touch, Samsung Galaxy, or the new G2.

Just be aware, the price of these phones is going to be higher since you don't want to start a 2yr contract. Or buy one used that is not on a contract.

You could also use an iPhone on T-Mobile's prepaid plan only if you jailbreak the device 1st.

I'd also double check on being able to use the blackberry, I heard that it might not work 100% if not tied into the data network somehow. I don't want to recommend something I'm not 100% sure about so double check if you want to use a blackberry.

I'd recommened the iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy. But the iPhone can be a pain to jailbreak so I'd probably get a galaxy. The G2 is very new, haven't read any reports on it. Maybe someone else can tell you about the phones in more detail.

What prepaid plan are you on with T-Mobile?

I need a smart phone I can use w/ my current T-Mobile prepaid plan. I just want to be able to make calls, text and surf the internet via WiFi.
Is there a list of phone that can do this on can someone tell me about some phones that will do this?
    TIA
