I was in love with this phone when I first got it. Now, a year later, I am having major problems. Sometimes, when I slide it open, it restarts, or it freezes. Currently, both screens (open and closed) are blank --- you can see the backlight, but no images of anything. Just blankness.

My Cosmo is suddenly displaying Verizon advertisements if the phone has been unactive for a while. Verizon claims it doesn't know why. Any ideas?

I have this phone, because I switch from Sprint, Verizon; LG Rumor2 is, I really like, so naturally, I for the Verizon version. Cheap and beautiful and very easy to use. Of just this issue, miraculously subsided, and now my phone freeze between each task, everything was in slow, half of the option does not work or when they do, just a few minutes to download , it won the "read my external memory chip, it decided to answer an incoming call when I get a message, someone gave me four copies, to freeze during the phone, and restart the battery life of five hours charges this is pitiful. I spent a lot of time, my cell phone battery to restart it because the screen is completely frozen. this phone is the draw for the help of friends around with a keyboard.

Like carl2k07, I have had good fortune with mine. Every so often it freezes up for a bit, but the only real problem I've had has been texting. The buttons either don't work or spew three or four characters. For example, what should say "On my way" might say "Onnn m wa." Otherwise, mine is a simple work phone.

This is my second Lg Cosmos from Verizon because the first one stopped working all together. This one started trying to continuously connect to Verizon Mobile Web and will not stop. I can't even use the phone now. Took it back to Verizon and they said it was out of warranty. I will never buy another LG phone again, and I am currently looking for a new cell phone provider so I can quit Verizon too. I do not like the LG Cosmos from Verizon at all. It is a horrible piece of equipment.

I got this phone because I switched from Sprint to Verizon; I had an LG Rumor2 that I liked very much, so naturally, I went for Verizon's version of it. The Cosmos is cheap compared to the Rumor 2 in terms of looks, design, software, and just general ease of use, but hey, the phone was free and I'll be damned if they'll make me pay an extra 30 bucks a month for internet just because I want a smart phone. I was never actually pleased with the Cosmos but it's just a phone, right? However I started having real problems after about four months. Out of no where it started turning on and off randomly and anytime I received a media message. It would spend at least 20 minutes turning on and off every ten 10 seconds which made doing anything impossible. Just when that issue miraculously somewhat subsided, now my phone freezes in between every task, everything is slowed down, half the options don't work or when they do they take -I'm not exaggerating- almost five minutes to load, it won't read my external memory chips, it decides when it wants to answer calls, I get quadruplicates of every single message someone sends me, it freezes during phone calls and restarts, the battery life (which wasn't great to begin with) is down to like five hours of charge which is pitiful. The freezing and the sluggish responds are driving me absolutely crazy, I spend half my day taking the battery out of my phone to restart it because the screens completely frozen. This phone is about as helpful as carrying around a rock with a drawn on keypad.

I actually didn't have to call the provider. 1. Turn the bluetooth off on your phone and on your headset device. 2. Take the battery out of yourphone while it's turned on; Also, turn the headset completely off. 3. Let everything set for at least 20-30 seconds. 4. Turn the phone back on. 5. Turn the bluetooth back on the phone. 6. Turn the headset on. 7. Pair the device back to your phone. 8. If it doesn't work, maybe try the steps again. It could possibly take a little more time than that, but it worked for me.

No offense to all, who are against the cosmo, but quite frankly I've had great luck with my lg. If you speak to the right representative, they usually help you target the problem. I'm having problems with my bluetooth, but I bet you tomorrow I call my provider and get it figured out. The cosmo is an affordable smart phone. It's not a droid, but in it's basic form, it's still a complicated phone.

I bought this phone at Verizon and loved the actual features on the phone until 2 wks after purchase, when it started cycling on and off, nonstop!! I took it back to Verizon and they gave me a brand new one. That was two weeks ago. Today, it started the cycling on and off thing again. I tried taking the battery out, etc. and it didn't change a thing. I took it back to Verizon and told them I didn't want another LG product. They traded it out for a Samsung Intensity 2. Ridiculous that in one month's time, I had TWO LG Cosmos phones and had the same problem happen with both.
So I contacted LG tonight and was basically told that there was nothing they could do about any of it because I'd already given the phone back. Not only did I have the hassle of dealing with this situation (I have 3 teenaged sons, one of whom has high-functioning autism and this is the primary way the school and my boys can get me during the day), but I am out the money I spent on certain apps due to the phone malfunctioning. LG refuses to reimburse me, although it was the malfunction of their equipment that cost me the money 3 times in one month!! NEVER AGAIN will I purchase ANYTHING LG.
They DO NOT stand behind their products.

This was my first qwerty phone and I am happy with the way it function but, I don't have anything to compare it to. We had to have my wife's battery replaced and my son's charger had a broken wire.

We live in a rural area and don't get as good of a signal as we did with our old LG 8300 phones.

I have a LG Cosmos through Verizon Wireless and have had nothing but problems with it. The phone continues to "lock up" and cannot be turned off! Verizon replaced the phone once and the problem continues. Verizon then did some store to store research and told me that many stores have been having the same issue with the LF Cosmos due to Bluetooth connectivity.

Be aware, if you want to use the Bluetooth option on this phone, you may run into lock up issues as LG has no current fix for the phone. Verizon only offers the Intensity as a another phone option which is the same phone that my kids have.
