USB debugging is for MACs' as far as I know, and the guy didn't say it's MAC. But to come to the question....why don't you try to switch Samsung Vibrant off, then plug it to the USB and finally turn it on

Then that means there is something wrong with the cable. This happened to me before and using a diff usb port made it work..

Well, oddly enough I tried a differant cable and it worked like a charm...not sure why but all is good now!

Do you have USB debugging on? Settings--->applications----->developmental-----> Turn USB debugging off. As soon as you plug the phone in it should give you the option to connect "mass storage"

    Hey guys,

I am new to the cell phone world so went out and got a Galaxy S Vibrant. I love it so far but have a little issue. I want to connect it to my PC so I can upload music etc. but when I plug the USB cable in my PC does not come up saying it is connected. The cable is working as the phone is saying it is charging. I also downloaded KIES and it does not find the phone either.

I have a feeling this is something simple but I am lost. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks
