Tracfone's SVC is a reliable cellphone for persons that can't pay $100 per month to have cellphone. I used to pay that amount and more each month for all the features and they charge extra for going over the minutes. No Contract with SVC and no bills in the mail. I have double minutes for life don't have to worry about a thing about my cellphone. If I have some problems with it, will go ahead and buy another. I switch because I was tired of Contract companies and paying so much. Now am so relax and with money in my purse to buy other needed things.

Hey Duoplexis, check out this site - there is quite a serious write up about SVC/TracFone! Senior Value Cell Phone by TracFone : About Prepaid Cell Phones

Hope you find some helpful info

Hey Duoplexis, I think when the SVC plan for tracfone, and especially for seniors came about, the lg 220 was indeed their SVC phone for pensioners that needed, or preferred to be on the CDMA network. I did look it up, and wikipedia seems to think that it's still an option. Here's what I've come to assume. The SVC name is merely an umbrella term for seniors. There isn't really any different company (like straight talk and net10) that deals with it. It can be any tracfone you want with the $20 plan, that if you devide it up into the three month service period, gives you the cost of less than $7 a month. Whatever your preference phone, try buy it with double minutes for life included into the deal - cause that's really what's going to save you money in the long, and short term.

I'm desperately trying to find out if this phone is available for pensioners wanting to make use of tracfone's brill SVC plan. They've only got the samsung t155 advertised for the SVC plan, but I can't believe that this is the only phone. For starters, it's a GSM phone, and I can't believe that tracfone would exclude any pensioners that need a CDMA phone.
