Assuming you have a MiFi device and locked into a contract, you should be able to use or hook up your phone using the MiFi. The new iPhone by Verizon has a HOTSPOT capability which has NO contract needed, it's on a monthly bases and can be added or cancel at will.

Speeds are slower with HOTSPOT than they are with MiFi... So I'm told

I presently use my MiFi with my Ipod and have a contract with Verizon for 5g per month. The new Verizon 4g Iphone claims the MiFi is built in the Verizon Iphone and can accommodate 4 other computers, Ipod, etc, just like the MiFi does. My question is, if the Iphone in fact has MiFi built in and I purchase a Verizon Iphone will I just use my present 5g internet connection? And if so do they continue to charge me for the present MiFi devise until the contract time for the MiFi in over.

I don't know what you mean BUILT IN, it has HOTSPOT capability. You can use your MiFi with the iPhone, and if I'm correct you had to take a contract with MiFi. With my HTC Incrideble I have HOTSPOT, which allows me to turn my phone into a wireless modem/WiFi so I can connect to my iPad when I don't have WiFi available to me like at Malls, libarys, coffee shops, and stuff.

My Hotspot is 20$ a month with a 2GB cap, but I can cancel or add hotspot whenever I like, NO contract. So if I feel I not going to need my cell phone to be a hotspot for 2 months I can cancel... Then activate hotspot again when I feel I may need/want it.

I think your allowed 5 devices to hook up to your MiFi.

I'm assuming you have your wording correct.... Hotspot and MiFi are completely different. MiFi is a device (modem) thats the size of a cell phone, Hotspot is a setting that you can enable in the phone settings. Functionally they act the same, a wireless connection, cost wise their very different.

For a couple years I have a Ipod and a Mifi to get on the internet. Now that Verizon has Iphone with Mifi built in I was wondering how my Mifi data account will work with the Iphone and what do I do with the MiFi. Any body know how Verizon is going to handle this?
