The date for Meizu’s planned update of the M9 to Android 2.3 Gingerbread has come, and gone. M9 owners everywhere were disappointed, and rightfully so, but it seems that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. The guys over at GizChina found that a Meizu engineer has posted photos online showing off an M9 running the coveted Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, and showing off the devices mind blowing benchmark speed.
With a benchmark speed of 2595 running Gingerbread, the M9 blows phones like the Nexus One (running 2.2), Droid X, and Galaxy S out of the water! Supposedly Jack Wong has been quoted as saying that Android 2.3 will be available to M9 users by the end of March, but with Meizu’s history of missing release dates I’m skeptical. At least these photos bring some glimmer hope.
Do YOU think that Gingerbread will be released on the M9 by the end of the month?
