Yeah, it sounds like something may be running in the background. I would find out what it is and shut it down.

If installed, remove the task killer.
Turn off Wifi, 4g, Bluetooth, GPS and other power hogging apps when not in use.
Make sure you are not roaming.
This phone has a bad rep for battery issues.

My battery life is HORRIBLE!!! One minute its at 100% after its done charging... and in about an hour (I hardly use it) its at about 5%!!! How the hell do I resolve this problem!?!?!
