It seems like lawsuits have become a popular thing here lately and this lawsuit is not different. This time, Apple is being sued for the iCloud name by Phoenix, Ariz. - based iCloud Communications.

The iCloud Communications in Phoenix, reported that Apple is infringing upon the trademark over the iCloud name and they have filed the lawsuit with the U.S. District Court in Arizona.

The company also states that the new mobile streaming that Apple is using is very similar to that of their company's as well as the services that Apple is intending to use when it comes to the iCloud name and mark. In addition, iCloud Communications claims that Apple’s new mobile-streaming service is identical to that of their own business model. The company provides VoiP and broadband solutions in Phoenix and surrounding areas.

This is what the complaint is stating, “The goods and services with while Apple intends to use the ‘iCloud’ mark are identical to or closely related to the goods and services that have been offered by iCloud Communications under the iCloud marks since its formation in 2005.”

It will be interesting to see where this lawsuit goes. Will iCloud Communications back down from their lawsuit or carry on with it.
