Back up all personal data (Just in case)
Parts required: Find OEM replacement parts on ebay.
There are two HTC EVO 4G LCD versions of flex ribbon, thin & wide.
Make sure you get the correct one!!!
Tools required: Use #5 torx screwdriver, percision phillips #00 screwdriver,
Pry tool (or a few old credit cards cut lengthwise or a guitar pick filed thin), a few paper towels to cover work space.
Be very very careful not to damage LCD, screen, camera, ribbon etc.
DO NOT BEND THE SCREEN WHILE PRYING!!!
Put tape on shattered screen to hold it in together.
Use hair dryer to gently loosen adhesive between screen.
If new screen comes with out adhesive, replace with 3M double side tape

    EVO battery reset (Bump-charging')
~1. Charge your phone all night while it's on.
~2. Turn off your phone and unplug and then replug it in so the orange light comes back on to show that it’s charging.
~3. Once it turns green, unplug it and replug it in another 5-6 times.
~4. Turn your phone back on and then you're done.
Every morning when you go to unplug your phone, just hit the power button and drag the thing to un-lock it, and let the clock and the other stuff update after sleeping all night.

    ~These are my settings:
    GPS: enabled
    Animations: all animation
    Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4g: off
    Wi-Fi available: use it!
    Screen timeout: 1 min
    Brightness: 20%
~Disable the Auto Sync features that fetch news, weather and stocks.
menue -> settings -> Accounts & sync-> uncheck as desired

~If all else fails, Sync data and Factory reset+

    ~A word to the wise>>>
'Bump-charging', as it has become known, can also be useful one time. Doing this can slightly extend the charge that your battery will accept, and they teach the phone what a full charge is, etc. Beyond that, no.
Also, just general FYI for newer Android users, as of the introduction of Froyo, the Andoid OS v2.2, task killers not only do not help, but they do harm.
~Apparently, anyone with an EVO4G w/ the Hardware 0004 version will get superior battery life over the others.
