As close as I can tell, they really don't make PDA's anymore. They all contain cell phones. I have a Palm TX, which can access the web via WiFi, but it is dated and not all that capable.

If you know of a good (capable) web-enabed PDA, I'd like to know about it.

Meanwhile, am I really the only person out here that wants to do this?
(I think that cell phone data plans are way too expensive since I don't need to use it very often... maybe a couple times a week.)
Isn't there ANYONE with experience using a cell phone just for browsing the web using WiFi? Perhaps when they were traveling abroad?

Not looking for a netbook or tablet. I want something small that is there when I need it, not that will be back in a hotel room because it is too big or fragile.

I understand that many cell phones can now access the web via WiFi when in range rather than using the (expensive) data via cell phone network.

Sure, I'd LIKE all the modern capabilities... but I am not willing to pay what it would take.

What I want is a decent mobile web browser that I can use near a WiFi.
I already have a cell phone (prepaid Page Plus), so I don't really WANT any cell phone contract. It is okay with me to carry my existing cell for calls and use a new one only for the web.

Is there a modern phone that will work AS A WEB BROWSER with just WiFi and no contract?
(Being able to use Skype would be a real added plus.)

I'd like to hear of other people's experience (make/model, how well it works, problems, etc.)

    Thanks for any help!
    Mark
