Thank you jacob11 for trying to help me.

That website is unreliable. Of the three backup software that were listed there, one has disappeared (web site for sale), one says, on the vendor's website, that it does not support the X495, and the third doesn't say what it supports besides certain specific cell phone types (e.g. Android, Windows).

So it appears I will have to enter each phone book entry manually into a PC file. Which will be only a slow, manual backup but will not let me move the phone book to another cell phone, should I ever need to do that.

I have Mobile Action Management Tool (MA-8230P) to backup all of the entries in the cell phone (Samsung SGH-X495) phone book. I was able to get it to work a long time ago but I have not used it in a long time. I reloaded the software from the CD - which is possibly not the last version but it is no longer on the
    HTML Code:
    mobileaction.com
website - but it cannot find the cell phone. My Computer shows the cell phone connected.

I don't remember how to get the software to see the cell phone. There may be something on the cell phone side that tells it to make/allow a connection. If so, I don't remember what it is.

Any suggestions and advise will be most appreciated.

    Thank you
