Are you sure it's a T989 and not the Sprint SPH-D710? If it is the D710 then no you can't. The Sprint version only has a CDMA antenna. You'll need a GSM version of the phone.

I'm with T-Mobile as my carrier for the past 3 years.

I've just purchaseed a SPRINT Samsung Galaxy SII SGH-T989 off the 'bay and want to know if I can 'unlock' it so that it works on T-mobile.

I'm not a techie type and have no idea even how to unlock a phone (but I'm willing to learn - even at my age!)

Can I unlock it and will the sprint phone work on the t-mobile network?
