You can purchase Straight Talk through Hildretech. The cost of the SIM card is $59.99, including the first month of service. The cost of the plan is $45 for each additional month, and includes unlimited talk, text, and data.

They're offering the same deal on Net 10, but not Tracfone. Net 10's unlimited plan is officially $5.00/mo. more, but currently discounted to the same $45.00 if you enrol to have it paid automatically by credit/debit card. I suspect why they require the unlimited plan (ruling out Tracfone which doesn't have one) is that your minutes are kept in software on the phone. Note that if you look at your account online you can see how many days/months of service are left, but not how many minutes.

ok time for clarification. by gsm phone, i mean any phone that is compatible with att or t-mobile. unfortunately verizon compatible phones are not supported (i.e. Verizon, Sprint, Metro PCS, TracFone, SafeLink, NET10, Straight Talk or BlackBerry) HOWEVER att, t-mobile and unlocked phones (Phone must operate in 850 and 1900 MHz bands) work and fully function. does data work? YES! mms? YES! calls? YES! video calling? YES! how? go to straighttalk.com, hover over "shop" and select "sim cards" then select whether your phone is att, tmoblie or unlocked, then select the size you need, pay your 15.00 for the sim card and the 45.00 for the service plan, wait by the mail, activate and voila! you now have fully functioning straighttalk service on your phone!!!

I have done ALOT of research on this and everyone that has used this service is perfectly happy, iphones are INCLUDED (however there are some special settings and a specific profile you need to use, you can easily find them all on youtube )!! I think the reason they have allowed this is because the only phones they have that are worth a crap are out dated or work only on sprint (not alot of ppl happy bout that one) so they needed a way to bring more ppl in. what better way than to say "hey, bring your phone, it will work on our service (except the above mentioned phones) they just opened up in a BIG way, now ppl cant ***** about the phone selection, they just bring on over the phones they love! pretty schweet eh?

on a side note, I am about to buy an unlocked nokia e7 and when I get it, I will be taking advantage of this service, and I will let you all know how it goes
