    When you purchase a used Sprint phone from ebay or a friend, you have to shop carefully. If that phone has ever been reported lost or stolen it is nothing more than a paper weight. Make sure you get the IMEI or ESN from the buyer and bring that number into your nearest Sprint store. They can make sure that phone is safe to purchase. Stay away from craigslist. Many people steal phones and sell them there just to get rid of them as fast as possible. It also may be a good idea to meet the buyer at a Sprint store as well and if he refuses then I would not buy from them at all.
