If you have an Android phone, you can back up your contacts with Google. You can then access your contacts online if you're looking for a number, and when you get a new phone, they can be automatically downloaded. If you lose or break your phone, Google will have your contacts on file, so you won't need to worry about losing them or needing to write them down.

To make sure your contacts are synced with Google, do the following:

    Choose "Contacts".

    Press the "Menu" button.

    Choose "Accounts".

Make sure "Background data" and "Auto-sync" are both checked.

Choose the account you want to sync your contacts with, and make sure "Sync Contacts" is checked.

Then, your contacts should be automatically synced with Google!
