If that doesn't work, or if your phone is frozen:

1. Turn the power off. If your LG Vortex is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2. Hold the Home and Volume Down button
3. Press and hold the Power button until the device turns on
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your device

I just got a verizon vortex cell phone from a friend but i locked myself out of it trying to see how it works. I tried to remeber the pattern but before i could remember it locked me out for too many tries. Now it's asking for an google account amd password bu i haven't activated the phone yet with the company what can i do
