    Most of the smaller companies just resell major vendors. It's the same service, without the bells and whistles, at least in my experience. The big companies overcharge anyway, so I think going with smaller companies is a good thing in the long run, especially since you're paying less.

    I have known people that had Straight Talk and while the prices were decent the service wasn't. What is your experience? Do you have a lot of dropped calls?

    I am a cheapskate too, but I would rather pay more for quality service than pay some fly by night company for okay reception and service. I am kind of weird that way I guess.

    Well, I'm a guy who has bought an expensive phone for cash, unlocked it and is using it with straight talk - which is the most cost-effective plan I can find Things are going... wellllll.... ok. Everything seems to work. See my questions in the samsung department.
