If the line is cancelled with AT&T, the phone number cannot be ported.

If the line is still active with AT&T, the phone number can be ported. The account will automatically close after the port has been completed.

I don't believe AT&T will show where the number was ported to, it might just show that it was ported and that the account is closed.

The account holder should have the Account PIN if there is one.

well now thinking about what you said, he will know about it if pure talk is the one to cancel the account,, right? So, if the att account is cancelled before she goes with pure talk then she cant keep her old phonenumber. Is this correct?

what is an account pin? the thing is, her dkhd dad suspended her phone. I told him tonite to go ahead and cancel it. i dont know if he did or not. if she does this, will know about it? the att account is in his name.

That's a good question.

The phone number on AT&T must still be activated. You then request a port with Pure Talk USA. They will most likely need some of the information that AT&T has in order to be able to port the number. They might ask for an Account PIN, the last four digits of your Social Security Number, and your birth date, as an example. This is for verification purposes.

After the port goes through the line on AT&T should automatically be cancelled.

You should be able to use that phone on Pure Talk USA. If you port the number to Pure Talk USA any calls made after porting will not show up on the AT&T account page since Pure Talk USA is now handling the billing.

my daughter has a samsung pantech formerly w/att. will this
phone work with a pure talk usa simcard? if she keeps her old
phonenumber from att (previously on his plan), will any
of her phonenumber activity show up on his account info
