    If nothing else, couldn't you just forward the texts to your email address and then download them from there? That's how I transferred photos from my phone to my computer before I bought a smart phone.

    You can try downloading an application, such as GO SMS, to save text messages to your computer. They will be in a file and you can then transfer the file to another phone (or the same phone if you're resetting it) and then restore the text messages.

    Yes they can. I don't think it is in the manual. But it is definitely in the file structure of the phone. I just don't remember where. I'm sure you'll find it if you plugged it in and just hunted around.
