    haha, nice.

Telus is CDMA, but I don't know if they would activate the phone on their network since it originally wasn't on it.

Yeah I did some more searching and found someone, 8 years ago, raving about the phone, but noting it was very outdated.

I also found a place in France that takes working models and 'refurbishes' them with rich bold colors to give them a new-retro look.. All I'd need then is a unicycle with a record player mounted to it.

I wonder what CDMA options there are, if any?

Wow - That phone has an analog antenna. From what I can tell it only has two other CDMA bands. Fido operates on GSM bands, so it will definitely not work.

When my old UTStarcom died I made the mistake of going with a free (promo) Nokia vs. trying to get my old Motorola Timeport p8767 re-activated.

The Nokia is typical of a wannabe smart-phone, pocket dialing, pocket SMS'ing, missed calls that come in while the phone is trying to do something in the background and I can't get past the lock screen, and generally poor voice quality with a bit of an echo for the caller because the speaker's a bit too loud/close to the mic.

Now, a year later, I still have this crap Nokia on a cell plan, when it's nearly useless as a cell phone.

Meanwhile my 'still works great' Timeport lingers at home, with fresh accessories and a nearly un-used spare battery! Heck I saw Barney on HIMYM using one a few seasons back!

So I have to wonder, what's the oldest that Fido can go back to? I can't seem to locate any specs on the phone (all the pages stall and die?) but I recall it was a tri-mode phone, whatever that means?

PS: The goal is to get a 'phone' on my 'phone plan' and use the Nokia for MP3s and WiFi while I wait at least 2 months for the Nexus 5.
